Opened in 1870, Cedar Point is owned by the Cedar Fair Entertainment Company and is located in the Lake Erie Peninsula in Sandusky, Ohio.

Dubbed as America’s Roller Coast, Cedar Point is home to a whopping number of roller coasters and is currently holding a world title of putting up 72 rides in total.

Climate

Since Cedar Point is located in the heart of Sandusky, Ohio, it shares the same climate with the city which is under the humid continental class.

You would be happy to know that you will have enough reasons to go to Cedar Point despite the weather as both winters and summers are average.

July, the hottest month, will have temperatures within the 28-degree range in summer, while January can drop to as low as 0 degrees in winter.

When traveling by air, you have four options in getting to this celebrated theme park, namely: (1) Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (55 miles away), (2) Toledo Express Airport (65 miles away), (3) Erie Ottawa International Airport (15 miles away) and (4) Sandusky County Regional Airport (25-minutes from Cedar Point by car).

If you’d opt to go to Cedar Point via land travel, you have the option of booking trips through Greyhound Bus Lines or rub elbows with fellow Cedar Point aficionados through AmTrak.
